The string to search for now matches the actual log output, and screen names have been updated to the current game panel (English display). **v1.0** : August 2024 — First edition ## When you would use this For everyday joining, **searching for your server name** in the in-game server list is by far the easiest way ([Join the server](https://gss.bestnetllc.co.jp/en/docs/soul-mask-initial-setup/#sec-join)). The invite code is useful in situations like these. - When the server has only just started and does not appear in the server list yet - When there are many servers with similar names and yours is hard to pick out of the list - When you want to hand out the invite code so that only your friends join **Anyone who knows the invite code can join your server.** Do not post it anywhere public. Setting a join password (`Server Password`) as well is safer. [Log in to the game panel](https://gss.bestnetllc.co.jp/en/docs/logging-into-the-game-panel-and-feature-overview/) and select your Soulmask server. 2. **Start** the server (no log is written while it is stopped). 3. Open the **Files** screen in the game panel. 4. Open `/home/container/WS/Saved/Logs`. 5. Open `WS.log`. **Read the warning below first.** [![The server control buttons at the top of the game panel: Start, Restart and Stop](https://gss.bestnetllc.co.jp/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/kb-soulmask-ctrl.png)](https://gss.bestnetllc.co.jp/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/kb-soulmask-ctrl.png) Press Start on the server first, then open the log **`WS.log` contains this server's admin password in plain text.** It is recorded in the start-up information line near the top of the file. **Never hand `WS.log` to a third party as it is, and never show it on social media, on a forum, or on a live stream.** When you do need to share its contents — with support, for example — delete the lines containing the password before you send it. With the file open, press `Ctrl` + `F` to open the search bar. 2. Type `SERVER UNIQUE ID` and search. 3. On the line that is found, the string following `[SERVER UNIQUE ID:]` is your **invite code**. Copy it. If you cannot find it, wait a little and open the file again. A large number of red error lines appear in the log while the server is starting, but these appear during a normal start-up too and are not a problem. ## Join with the invite code 1. Launch Soulmask. 2. Choose **\[Online Game\]**. 3. Choose **\[Private Server\]**. 4. Paste the code you copied into the invite code field.
