Which one should I choose?

Both plans hold up to 10 players. That limit comes from the game itself, so it does not differ by plan. What differs is memory and how many backups are kept.

  • Standard — for a world you are just starting. 4 GB of memory, 3 backup generations.
  • Plus — for a world you have played in for a long time, where you have explored a wide area. In Valheim, the more of the map has been explored, the more data the server has to hold. 8 GB of memory and 10 backup generations give that room.

You can switch later while keeping your world, with prorated billing. Starting on Standard and moving to Plus once it starts to feel heavy is a perfectly good way to go.

The price you see is the price you pay.
There are no setup fees, minimum terms or cancellation fees.
The game itself (Valheim) is not included — please obtain it separately.

TRANSPARENCY

Putting an end to confusing pricing.

The game-server hosting industry is full of pricing practices that are hard to understand.
We refuse to accept that.

Common industry practices

Confusing pricing

  • ✗
Cheap first month, then a sharp jump Discounts like “50% off the first month” make the monthly price look low, then it multiplies from the second month.
  • ✗
Forced long-term prepayment A “¥xxx/mo” headline that only applies with a 12-month upfront payment, while paying monthly costs far more.
  • ✗
First-year-only discounted pricing “First-year price” or “campaign price” is shown prominently, hiding the regular price from year two and the change at auto-renewal.
  • ✗
Cancellation fees & minimum terms With a discount applied, cancelling within the term incurs a penalty, making it hard to leave even when your setup changes.
  • ✗
The auto-renewal trap It auto-renews from the intro price, and before you know it you’re billed the regular price (sometimes 2–3×).
Our promise

Clear, transparent pricing

  • ✓
Listed price = price you pay The monthly price shown on this page keeps applying as-is. There are no hidden increases.
  • ✓
Monthly billing, no lock-in Simple monthly-only pricing. No annual contracts or long-term lock-in.
  • ✓
Clear total pricing What you see is what you are quoted. No hidden add-ons.
  • ✓
No cancellation fee, no minimum term Cancel anytime when your setup changes. We never charge a penalty.
  • ✓
Prorated up/downgrades Plan changes settle only the difference. No need to “just pick the bigger plan to be safe.”

INFRASTRUCTURE

The unglamorous work of staying online.

Our servers are housed in a data centre in Japan with the following facilities.

HOW DATA TRAVELS Player Line A Line B Redundant network (2 routes) Game server Spare units included Storage Spread across NVMe SSDs (Ceph) HOW POWER TRAVELS Mains power Normal operation UPS (battery backup) N+1: one more than needed On-site generator For longer outages Powers the serversIf one part stops, another path or another unit takes over.
Redundant servers

Equipment is run with spares in place, so a single hardware failure does not take the service down.

Redundant storage (Ceph · NVMe)

Your data is held across multiple NVMe SSDs. If one drive fails, the data is not lost.

Redundant network

There is more than one route to the internet, so traffic keeps flowing even if one path goes down.

UPS with N+1

Battery units keep the power on during an outage, and we keep one more unit than strictly required — so power continues even if a unit fails.

On-site generator

For longer outages there is a generator on site. It takes over while the UPS bridges the gap.

Keeping your server online is the priority — starting with the facilities it runs on.

PAYMENT

We don’t store your card number.

Payments are processed by PayPal, Square and Stripe.

We never store your full card number

For card payments, the card number itself is held by our payment processor (Stripe), which is PCI DSS compliant. All we keep is the brand, last 4 digits and expiry date to identify the card, plus an encrypted token used for recurring billing.

We never store your security code

With any payment method, we never store your card’s security code (CVV / CVC).

3-D Secure supported

Stripe card payments support 3-D Secure, your card issuer’s cardholder authentication. VISA / Mastercard / JCB / American Express are accepted.

Here is exactly how each payment method is handled.

Stripe card payment (recurring; 3-D Secure supported)
The card number itself is stored securely by our payment processor (Stripe), which is PCI DSS compliant. We do not keep the full card number on our servers — only the brand, last 4 digits and expiry date to identify the card, plus an encrypted payment token used for recurring billing. Subsequent charges are processed with that token.
PayPal (recurring)
With PayPal recurring payments, your card details are stored neither on our servers nor by our payment processor. All we keep is the billing-agreement ID issued by PayPal and billing information such as the next charge date and amount. Your funding source (PayPal balance, linked bank account, linked card, and so on) stays entirely within your PayPal account.
Square (one-time)
Square payments are one-time only. Recurring billing is not supported, and we never store any information used for future charges (card details, tokens, and so on). To keep your service running, please complete the payment again at each renewal.
Cancel or remove a payment method at any time
You can remove or change a stored payment method from the client portal at any time (for PayPal, you can cancel automatic payments from the “Automatic payments” settings in your PayPal account). If you would like your service to stop renewing, please submit a cancellation request (“End of billing period”) from the client portal. There are no cancellation fees and no minimum term.

We issue an invoice about one week before the due date and email it to your registered address. For full details see Payment methods for usage fees →.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

We keep improving.

The main updates to our Valheim dedicated servers.

We continuously improve our Valheim dedicated servers to provide a more comfortable and stable environment.

September 2026
Support for Valheim 1.0 (Deep North)

We carried out server-side work to align with the release of Valheim 1.0. Restart your server and the latest version is applied, with your world data carried over unchanged. Full crossplay with PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox is supported.

World modifiers are now supported

You can now change world settings — combat difficulty, the death penalty, resource amounts, raid frequency and so on — from the startup settings in the game panel. There is no need to edit config files by hand. Your existing world is kept as it is, and no new world is created. It becomes available once you restart your server.

Connection details and the join code are easier to find

Every time the server starts, the console now shows a summary of the connection details at the top — the address, the join password, the world name and more. The join code is also saved to a file as well as being shown in the console. When someone cannot find the password, or yesterday’s code no longer works, the answer is right there. It becomes available once you restart your server.

※ This list covers a selection of the main improvements.

FEATURES

Service Features

Every plan includes the following features as standard.

🎮

Full crossplay is supported

Crossplay can be switched on or off at any time from the startup settings in the game panel. With it on, players on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox and PC (Steam / Microsoft Store / Game Pass) can gather on the same server. If everyone plays on Steam, leave it off and connect without going through a relay server. See the first-time setup guide for how to join.

🏠

Consoles cannot host a dedicated server

On PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox you cannot host a dedicated server (you can still join one). With our servers, your world keeps running even when nobody has the game open.

⚔️

Change the difficulty from the panel

You can change world settings from the game panel — combat difficulty, the death penalty, resource amounts, raid frequency and more. There is no need to edit config files by hand. Your existing world is kept as it is. See the first-time setup guide for the available settings.

⚙️

Automatic provisioning

Your server is built and set up automatically after you order.

🔄

Your settings live in the panel

Your server settings are held in the game panel and passed to the server every time it starts. Even if a game update replaces the server’s own configuration files, what you set in the panel is not lost.

📶

No port setup required

The ports a Valheim server needs are assigned automatically when your server is built. You never have to look up a port number or configure forwarding.

🏷️

Your server name is already in place

The server name you set in the game panel is used as the server’s own name. After boot, your friends can find it by that name.

🔑

A join password generated for your server alone

A join password unique to your server is generated automatically on first boot. The same password is never reused across servers. You can read it from the file screen in the game panel.

📦

Backs up the world, not the game

A backup contains only your world data and settings. The game itself (about 2 GB) can be fetched again when needed, so it is excluded up front — which means keeping many generations costs you little space.

🧪

Never handed over half-finished

During the build we verify the files we fetched, and start over automatically if anything is missing. A server is never handed over in a half-finished state.

⏱️

Choose the backup interval and how many to keep

You can change how often your world is backed up and how many are kept, from the settings in the game panel. Frequent recent saves and a longer-spaced set of older ones can each have their own interval.

⚡

High performance

All hardware is built from durable, server-grade components. If you outgrow your specs, you can easily upgrade while keeping your data.

📡

Monitoring for stutter

We continuously monitor how each server behaves and detect early signs of rubber-banding (stutter). What we find feeds back into how we size and design resources, so play stays smooth.

🛡️

DDoS protection

The game servers are protected by a system that defends against DDoS attacks. We provide a stable game-server environment.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon can I use the server after ordering?
Once payment is complete, the server is built automatically. It is usually ready within a few to a few dozen minutes, and we email you when setup is done.
For what to do after setup, see Logging in to the game panel & feature overview .
How many of us can play together?
Up to 10. This limit comes from Valheim itself, so it does not differ by plan — both Standard and Plus hold 10.
Can I play with friends on consoles?
Yes. Turn crossplay on in the startup settings and restart the server, and players on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox and PC (Steam / Microsoft Store / Game Pass) can gather on the same server. A server with crossplay on is given a six-digit join code; share it and anyone can join from any platform. See the first-time setup guide for the setting and how to find the code.
Note that consoles cannot host a dedicated server — they can only join one.
Does this include the game?
No. Valheim itself is not included — please obtain it separately. What we provide is the server everyone gathers on.
Where do I find the join password?
It is generated automatically for each server, and you can read it from the file screen in the game panel. If you would rather use a password of your own, enter it in the game panel settings and restart the server. See the first-time setup guide for step-by-step screenshots.
Can I change my plan later?
Yes — you can upgrade or downgrade anytime from the client portal. Your server data is kept, and billing is prorated.
For the steps, see How to upgrade/downgrade a game server .
Can I use mods?
No. In Valheim, crossplay and the mod loading mechanism cannot both be active — that is how the game itself works — and we prioritise a setup in which any server can be switched over to crossplay. In exchange for mods, we choose everyone being able to meet in the same world without having to match setups.
In-game ping is high, or is not displayed at all. Why?
On a server with crossplay on, the connection passes through a relay server, so the in-game ping can read higher than it really is, or not be shown at all. If everyone plays on Steam, turn crossplay off in the startup settings and restart the server to connect without going through a relay. For the steps, see the troubleshooting section of the first-time setup guide.
Should I pick Standard or Plus?
Both hold 10 players, so choose on memory and backup generations. Standard suits a world you are just starting; Plus suits a world you have played in for a long time, where you have explored a wide area, because Valheim holds more data the more of the map has been explored. You can switch later while keeping your world.
What payment methods do you accept?
Self-service online payment is available through PayPal, Square and Stripe (credit card). For any other payment method, please ask us via a support ticket. Once payment is complete, the server is built automatically.
For detailed payment steps, see How to pay your service fees .
How do I cancel or terminate?
Please submit a cancellation request from the client portal. There is no minimum term or cancellation fee whatsoever. Monthly plans run to the last day of the billing period you have paid for (the day before the next due date). If you choose “Immediate” when you submit the request, the server and its data are deleted at that moment.
For the steps, see How to cancel a game-server service .
Can I change the backup interval and how many are kept?
Yes. Both the interval and the number of generations can be changed from the settings in the game panel. You can keep frequent recent saves and a longer-spaced set of older ones at the same time.
Can I restore from a backup?
Yes. Restore your world data in one click from the game panel’s Backup tab. We keep 3–10 generations of backups by plan, so you’re covered even if you accidentally lose a base or data.
How often should I take backups? Are short intervals (such as every 15 minutes) a bad idea?
We recommend once per day, at a time with little play activity. Creating a backup compresses the entire server data, so repeating it at short intervals can cause in-game stutter (brief rollbacks).

Also, the number of stored backups is limited per plan (3-10 generations), and scheduled automatic backups rotate out the oldest ones automatically. With short intervals, only the last few tens of minutes of generations remain, which works against you in the crucial “I want to go back to a few days ago” moment. With one backup per day, you keep generations reaching back days to weeks (for details, see the KB section “Automatically manage backup versions (Schedule)”).
What time zone are schedules (e.g., auto-restart) based on?
Schedules are based on Japan Standard Time (JST). For example, “restart daily at 4:00” runs at 4:00 AM Japan time.
What time zone do the servers use? Can it be changed?
All our game servers use Japan Standard Time (JST). Both the management console and the scheduler are based on JST. We do not offer per-server time-zone changes; however, in-game time (day/night cycles, etc.) is independent of the server OS clock, so there is no impact on gameplay.

Note: In July 2026 we standardized the platform clock to Japan time. Servers created before then will switch to JST display after their next restart.
Are there any additional charges?
Prices are shown in the currency for your region. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee. The exact amount is confirmed in the client portal before you order.
Do you store my card details?
No. We never store your card’s security code (CVV / CVC) with any payment method. For card payments, the card number itself is held by our payment processor (Stripe), which is PCI DSS compliant; all we keep is the brand, last 4 digits and expiry date, plus an encrypted token used for recurring billing. With PayPal, your card details are stored neither on our servers nor by our payment processor. See the Payment section on this page for details.
