How to change the name of a Soulmask dedicated server. The server name is the marker players look for when they search the in-game server list.

Change the server name

  1. Log in to the game panel and select your Soulmask server.
  2. Open the Startup screen in the game panel.
  3. Enter the name you want to use in the Server Name field.
  4. Restart the server.
The server control buttons at the top of the game panel: Start, Restart and Stop
Once you have entered it, press Restart to apply it
What you type is saved automatically, but it does not take effect until the server has been restarted. Until you restart, the in-game list keeps showing the old name.

If you leave it blank

Server Name is blank by default. If you leave it blank, the server name shown in the game panel is used as it is.If you would rather just change the name in the panel, you can leave this field blank.

How long it takes to appear in the list

The main way people join is by searching for the name in the in-game server list. A name that your friends can find easily and that will not be confused with others makes you easier to spot.
  • After starting, it can take a few minutes before the server appears in the in-game list.
  • After that, the server re-registers itself with the list every two minutes. The name may not change over straight away.
