The automatic save intervals
The server saves automatically at the intervals you have set.| Item | What it means | Default |
|---|---|---|
Save Time Interval | How often in-game objects are written to the database | 600 seconds (10 minutes) |
Backup Interval | How often the database is written out to disk | 960 seconds (16 minutes) |
For how to change the intervals, and how to think about it when the server feels sluggish, see If the server feels heavy.
Save manually
This requires admin rights. First follow How to become an admin on your server to log in as an admin.- Join the server as an admin.
- Press the
~(tilde) key to open the in-game console. - Run the following command.

The "console" here means the in-game console. It is not the Console screen in the game panel.
When to use it
- Just before restarting the server
- Right after finishing a big build, or a job that took a long time
- Before maintenance or a plan change
If you want to be sure the data is kept, take a backup from the Backups screen in the game panel. For the steps, see Backups and restoring.
